Building a Bilingual Model

OBJETIVO: To promote the use of English as a second language by setting enjoyable and relaxing informal spaces in La Felicidad School IED for the constant daily interaction.

JUSTIFICACIÓN: Since La Felicidad school was founded in 2017, we have been looking to fulfill the community needs and expectations in a dynamic changing world. We are going to build a bilingual community where all participants feel comfortable to use the English language as a daily practice. We have observed that nowadays more and more English is highly important in all life activities. Therefore, we have selected to work in making this language as a pleasant daily tool in the school community.

Knowing English language is the most important necessity in our society in order to achieve our goals and to have the chance to get open doors in all fields (Education, Business, Holydays, Hobbies). Although there has been some progress in the implementation of the second language, we want to reinforce a real foreign language environment in all the school contexts.

It is necessary to enhance the project through significant activities like having a basic daily talking for example, at break or lunch time, having informal communication in all school spaces as cafeteria, main doors, patio and halls and also culture and memorable English speaker’s country activities in all the knowledge fields.

This project is important because we consider the English as a foreign language to expand our view of the world, liberalize one's experiences, and make one more flexible and tolerant community. It is also significant because
English language learning helps to understand how other people think, and it also helps us to get a general view of our open world and from then our school community.
